The Assistant Design Manager will support the successful delivery of projects, working closely with Design Managers, Project Managers, Project Directors and multi-disciplinary delivery teams to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

This role will focus on supporting project coordination, reporting, planning, risk tracking and stakeholder communication across design, procurement, construction and handover phases, while developing strong project management capability within a collaborative consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Design Managers, Project Managers and Project Directors in coordinating project delivery from initiation through design, procurement, construction and handover.
• Develop an understanding of client processes, needs and expectations, and help communicate key requirements to the wider project team.
• Assist in maintaining positive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Act as a reliable day-to-day support contact for project coordination matters, escalating queries or risks where appropriate.
• Help organise project kick-off meetings, progress meetings and internal coordination sessions, including preparing agendas, actions and meeting notes.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of project execution plans, programmes, trackers and reporting tools in coordination with discipline leads.
• Assist with monitoring project progress against programme, cost and quality objectives, highlighting issues to the Project Manager or Project Director.
• Support project financial and commercial administration, including tracking deliverables, progress updates, invoicing inputs and change control records.
• Coordinate information flow between project teams to help ensure actions, deadlines and deliverables are clearly understood and followed up.
• Maintain accurate project records, risk and issue logs, action trackers and status reports.
• Assist with procurement, contract administration and change management activities under the guidance of senior project management colleagues.
• Support the identification and escalation of project risks, resourcing challenges, coordination issues and delivery concerns.
• Help ensure project teams follow agreed quality assurance procedures and maintain required documentation.
• Support health, safety and environmental compliance by helping track required processes, records and actions during project delivery.
• Contribute to lessons-learned reviews, knowledge sharing and improvements to internal project management systems and procedures.

• 10–12 years’ experience supporting project delivery within the built  environment, with exposure to projects in the MENA region preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Previous experience supporting project delivery within a consultancy, construction, engineering or built environment setting.
• Good understanding of project management principles, including planning, risk tracking, reporting, change control and stakeholder coordination.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, follow up actions and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants, contractors and multi-disciplinary internal teams.
• Working knowledge of project planning and reporting tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel or similar platforms would be beneficial.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach, with a willingness to learn, take ownership of tasks and develop project management capability.
