Operating globally, our Team is based in the heart of Singapore near Orchard Central, Central London right next to St Paul’s Cathedral, and in Dubai overlooking to Dubai Marina.

 

The Role

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and client-focused consultant to join the team at our Singapore/Hong Kong/Manila office.

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the team and wider project teams.  You will support the design and implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems across a range of infrastructure projects.   

 

As an ICT Consultant, you will play a key role in requirements capture, technical assessments, and developing strategies and solutions that meet project objectives, industry standards and best practices. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of ICT masterplans, site assessments and feasibility studies, design specifications, all whilst collaborating with internal and external multidisciplinary teams.  Your contribution to the integration of digital technologies will demonstrate innovation and pushing technology boundaries. 

 

Through your foundation knowledge of ICT systems based on an academic background with some work-based experience, you will participate in: 

  • Support the technical lead for allocated projects, undertake the production of designs for projects, ensuring that designs conform to client requirements, health and safety laws, industry standards and best practices.  
  • Design ICT physical infrastructure to support passive and at times active systems such as structured cabling systems, extra-low voltage building control and communications systems. 
  • Contribute to specifications, design, drawings and delivery of ICT and their supporting infrastructure. 
  • Be part of the QA and QC process as an author. 
  • Develop Performance Specifications for ICT using Revit, AutoCAD and BIM, including detailed calculations, technical specifications, drawings, Employers Requirements and tender documentation. 
  • Be involved with construction site visits to undertake compliance monitoring roles of ICT works, working alongside Senior members of the team. 
  • Collaborate within the wider Cundall Team and external partners, working closely with colleagues of various disciplines to support the delivery of technically excellent and successful projects. 
  • You will be supported by Senior management staff within the Team, embracing the collaborative and supportive behaviours Cundall exhibit.  This includes line management, team mentors and chartership mentoring. 

The Skills

Educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering, ICT or Computer Science (MEng, BEng or BSc), and working towards, or already be, a member of a professional institute. You will be aiming for a career in ICT and telecoms systems design and construction in the built environment. We look for 3-4 years of experience working in an engineering design consultancy or for a contractor.

 

Desired traits for the successful candidate include: 


• Ability to take ownership for tasks and deliverables. 
• Organised and confident communicator, with the ability to gather client requirements and lead internal and external meetings
• Knowledge and experience in designing ICT and telecoms systems:
• Passive ICT systems, such as structured cabling systems and containment.
• Active ICT systems, such as Wi-Fi and GSM.
• Hyperscale and colocation data centre telecoms infrastructure, including outside plant.
• Satellite communications, antennas, and aerials.
• MEP facilities for ICT, including power and cooling.
• Interface between ICT and other building systems, including BMS and Security.
• Experienced in leading site visits for surveys, witnessing and commissioning, to support design work.
• Understanding of project resourcing and commercial management would be advantageous.
• Working knowledge of drawing and model production using Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. 
• WiredScore and/or SmartScore Accredited Professional would be an advantage.
• Interest or ability to code in languages such as Dynamo and Python would be desirable.
