The Team

Cundall is a multi-disciplinary consultancy, offering a wide variety of engineering and sustainability services, together with complementary specialisms, from locations across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and North Africa.

We have embarked on a programme to become a data-led organisation, with particular emphasis placed on creating greater efficiency in how we work. We are a small but growing data and insights team at the heart of this transformation. We are focused on delivering smarter, more efficient ways of working across the business. Being part of a compact team means your contributions will have immediate impact and visibility, with opportunities to take ownership of key projects, and shape how reporting and analytics evolve across a global, multidisciplinary consultancy. We value collaboration, creativity, and a proactive mindset, and we're building a culture where ideas are shared freely, skills are continuously developed, and innovation is encouraged.

The Role

You will be part of a growing data and insights team, with a focus on developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to support decision-making across our global workforce. You will receive any necessary training to deepen your expertise in data visualization, DAX, Power Query, and report automation.

Your work will involve close collaboration with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, transform complex data into meaningful visualizations, and contribute to improving data accessibility across the organization.

A key part of your role will be supporting projects by developing and maintaining scalable, user-friendly reporting solutions. You will work alongside development and business teams while taking ownership of the design, implementation, and support of Power BI-based reporting and analytics.

Some general administration will also be required, including supporting the department with day-to-day tasks and producing high-quality, presentation-ready reporting outputs for senior stakeholders.

The Skills

  • Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
  • Strong experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for custom measures and calculated columns
  • Skilled in Power Query/M for data transformation
  • Experience connecting to diverse data sources (SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, including star schema and snowflake schema
  • Ability to design and build interactive dashboards and visual reports
  • Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS) implementation
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL)
  • Experience with Power Automate for integrating workflow automation
  • Knowledge of Data Governance and best practices for report deployment
  • Ability to conduct requirement gathering and translate business needs into data solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Power BI Premium features (e.g., paginated reports, deployment pipelines)
