Working across industry sectors our building services teams are a source of world leading expertise; providing innovative and sustainable engineering solutions throughout the lifecycle of any building project – and offering a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, and professional excellence.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join the team in Doha to work on the design of some of the most exciting design and construction projects in the Middle East Region and worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice, you will provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems and Retail.

Under the guidance of our team of expert engineers this wide-ranging role will require you to carry out detailed Electrical Building Services engineering design and analysis, defining and translating clients’ needs into designs for buildings, facilities and services (electrical distribution and power generation, security and access control) all with sustainability at the forefront of the design. Knowledge and experience on MEP electrical and ELV designs is required for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage electrical design projects from concept through construction, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget compliance.
  • Develop detailed calculations and designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, ELV systems (e.g. BMS, CCTV), and other lowvoltage installations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Qatar Civil Defence (QCD), Kahramaa, NFPA, IEC, BS, IEEE, and other relevant local/international codes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to achieve efficient and coordinated integration of electrical systems.
  • Conduct load analysis, voltage drop assessments, and short-circuit calculations using industry-standard software such as ETAP, Dialux, Revit, Amtech, and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare tender & construction deliverables: technical reports, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews and design audits.

The Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Building Services Engineering; a Master’s degree or Chartered Engineer (CEng/PE) status is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the design of electrical building services, preferably with a strong portfolio in the Middle East.
  • UPDA Grade A and QCDD certification are mandatory.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex MEP projects in sectors such as healthcare, education, or critical systems.
  • Proficient in electrical design and simulation tools including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux, and Amtech.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems integration, local authority submission processes, and site coordination.
  • Professional certifications such as LEED, PMP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
