Our growing team of engineers in Singapore play a key role in making buildings more energy efficient, sustainable and cost effective to operate. The team works primarily in the data centre field, keeping abreast of current best practice while researching breakthrough technologies that shape future trends.

 

The team in our Singapore office are a part of our of world leading expertise in the Critical Systems field – and offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, and professional excellence.

 

In line with the continuing growth of our business, we are looking to appoint an ambitious and dynamic Senior Design Manager to join our team at our office in Singapore.

 

The Senior Design Manager is responsible for providing support to the Project Director and managing design development of projects in Singapore and the wider APAC region.

This includes taking the lead on managing all aspects of design and being responsible for the overall liaison between the design discipline teams the Client and contractor to ensure that designs are delivered on time in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

The Role

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary projects. This involves managing the design teams, acting as the point of contact for all parties involved in the project (e.g. client, contractors, sub-consultants), and ensuring communication and project collaboration between the various channels is managed effectively. 

 

This is a role which is central to the project success with a stimulating level of exposure to the wider project teams and stakeholders. It’s a challenging opportunity with great potential to develop your career and expand experience in the sector.

 

You will manage the design delivery, submissions, risk management, planning and progress monitoring whilst also ensuring the client objectives are understood and met. You will also be responsible for the management and control of all design management tools used on the projects such as programmes, schedules and trackers of client requirements and comments, multidisciplinary design meeting trackers, outstanding actions trackers, deliverable schedules, project filing systems and protocols, change control tools etc.

 

With the supervision and assistance of the project Associate Director or Project Director, you will control the project team to meet the agreed targets and commercial objectives.

The Skills

Educated to degree level in  Engineering or equivalent and having gained significant experience within a fast-paced and complex consultancy environment, you will have developed a strong understanding of the technical aspects of design and construction matters, systems and processes

 

In your most recent position, you have consistently demonstrated your ability to manage multiple large-scale projects to deliver to, and exceed, client expectations.You will have experience working with an international team and coordinating design development process remotely as well as experience of leading / managing the  design activities.

 

Possessing excellent organisational, planning and time management skills in order to manage projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality,you will have a proactiveapproach when it comes managing your own workload and that of others in your team.Major projects /Data Centre experience will be highly regarded but not essential.
