The Cundall vertical transportation team provide lift and escalator consultancy services for a wide range of different building types from data centres and airports, to shopping centres, residential developments, and offices.
We are involved in all the stages of construction projects from concept design of the vertical transportation requirements for buildings, to specification development, and working with lift contractors to turn a design into reality.
We assess the existing lifts and escalators and provide building owners with advice on works required to upgrade or replace the equipment. We also provide expert advice and support to building managers to assist with the operational management of lifts and escalators under maintenance, we provide assurance to clients comply with legislative requirements and plan future investments.
The Cundall VT team provide lift and escalator / Vertical Transportation consultancy services to clients as part of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary design team, and as a single discipline where only lift works are involved in the project.
The successful applicant will become a member of the existing Birmingham Cundall VT department as well as the wider Cundall engineering team working on multidisciplinary projects.
The role will heavily involve surveying and assessing existing lifts and vertical transportation equipment and report writing, with additional duties including lift traffic analysis, developing specifications, and supporting projects through the installation phase with monitoring visits to check progress.
You will represent Cundall in your interactions with clients and the ability to provide clear and concise advice is key. You will attend and input at design meetings and provide vertical transportation advice to clients, architects, and engineers (internal and external) on design issues relating to new systems, refurbishment, and maintenance works.
The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering excellence, exceeding client expectations, and be willing to learn and challenge their peers.
Experience within the lift and escalator field is essential as lone working and safe working on lifts will be a role requirement. NVQ3, NVQ4 preferred although EOR202 or role experience will be considered.
A degree qualification in an engineering discipline is desirable.
Demonstrable strength in the use of MS Word and Excel is essential as the regular production of written reports will be a key aspect of the role.
Experience in the production of concise reports in MS Word is a key requirement for the successful candidate.
Due to the need to visit sites, a driving license is essential.
Experience in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SharePoint 365 and Elevate software is desirable but not essential.
Experience in a previous lift consultancy is essential.
