Our sustainability team delivers projects across three workstreams: Environmentally Sustainable Design, ESG Advisory and Building Performance / Portfolio Services, and we encourage our team to gain exposure to multiple aspects. We envisage bringing in someone with a solid background in ESD and an interest in EGS Advisory, but we are flexible and would be open to a conversation if your mix of skills is different.

This is an opportunity for a talented, passionate, and motivated Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our collaborative and dynamic team in Naarm (Melbourne).

You will have solid experience in delivery of sustainability design strategy for the built environment, having undertaken analysis, reporting, modelling and documentation of sustainability strategy for a variety of project types and scales. Ideally you have also had exposure to delivering sustainability strategy and advisory services for precincts, masterplanning and / or organisations.

Core requirements of your role include:

• Applying strong technical knowledge and expertise effectively
• Project managing a variety of project scales and types
• Provide training and coaching to less experienced team members
• Supporting and liaising with clients, with the aim of expanding our project portfolio

You will have experience in a similar role and be looking to take the next step in your career to increase your client exposure, project management, and leadership qualities.

Your work will span all sectors and potentially offer a high degree of autonomy, and the ability to influence (and in some cases lead) our national capabilities and processes, based on the level of experience you have already gained in the industry.

• Engineering, Architecture, or built environment related degree.
• 4-6+ years of consulting experience in the built environment sector.
• Experience with preparing strategy, implementation, and certification of best practice certification schemes, such as Green Star, ISCA IS ratings, NABERS and WELL Building Standard.
• Developed knowledge of engineering and architectural principles to analyse and interpret documentation and drawings, evaluate sustainable design attributes and opportunities, and identify where improvements are warranted.
• Project management skills to directly manage delivery of scope, client satisfaction, financial performance and invoicing.
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, effectively resourcing to meet client deadlines.
• Strong technical analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

Preferable, but not essential

• Experience in developing carbon emissions inventories and decarbonisation plans.
• Experience in preparing ESG strategies and implementation plans.
• Experience with best practice ESG certification schemes, including the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard, GRESB, CDP and SBTi.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
