Cundall’s Civil Engineering team pride ourselves on our exemplary track record of designing innovative and sustainable civil engineering and infrastructure solutions, focused on improving and protecting the environment in which we live, while providing the facilities for day-to-day life, ensuring that transport and industry function effectively.
As one of the longest established of Cundall’s many disciplines, the Civil Engineering team are a source of world leading expertise – and offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, and professional excellence.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join our Manchester office to play a leading role in the development of our civil engineering team and the design of some of the most exciting and prestigious civil engineering design projects in the UK and worldwide.
Working alongside a team of specialist engineers and technicians, as well as colleagues across a range of various engineering disciplines, you will ensure the delivery of technically excellent and profitable projects.
You will take responsibility for all aspects of design across a numerous and varied portfolio of civil engineering projects, concerned predominantly with infrastructure within the built environment.
You will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop and will be supported towards Chartership (CEng) if not already achieved.
Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering (MEng or BEng), and having already achieved or working towards achieving chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng or equivalent), you should have demonstrable experience in a Civil Engineering role within a consultancy environment, and be well versed in relevant civil design software such as AutoCAD, Innovyse MicroDrainage and Civil 3D.
You should have some knowledge of the local construction market within Manchester and the North West (although not essential) with relevant experience in civil engineering design relating to the built environment, including the design of infrastructure (for example roads, drainage, flood risk assessments, pavements, public realm, earthworks, utility infrastructure) for both highway and drainage authorities (design to adoptable standards) and developers, taking schemes from initial concept/risk identification, through appropriate approval processes and on to detailed design for construction.
Experience of infrastructure as part of buildings projects working closely with other disciplines would also be an advantage.
The successful candidate will possess both technical knowledge and managerial ability with a proven track record in being able to successfully deliver projects (on time and within budgetary constraints) and have the ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and less experienced engineers to deliver to and exceed client expectations.
Crucially, you share Cundall’s passion for creative, sustainable and intuitive design.
Cundall values equality and diversity, and welcomes applications from candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
