The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated sustainability engineer/ consultant to join our world leading sustainability team. We are looking for someone to help develop and deliver our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) services, with a focus on the holistic environmental impact of materials.


As part of our established team of engineers and consultants, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will design, analyse, report, model and document sustainability projects as well as present to clients with the aim of expanding the sustainability project portfolio. You will work across a variety of sectors and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as we support the development of your professional skills.


Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Conducting LCA and the quantification of the environmental impact of buildings
  • Appraisal of building fabric and materials
  • Client consulting; determining expectations and achieving deliverables

The Skills

Educated to degree level in Engineering, Architecture or the Built Environment and having gained relevant practical experience in a similar role, you have demonstrable and comprehensive knowledge of the quantification of environmental impacts, EPDs and an understanding of environmental science.


You will be proficient in quantitative analysis and have a demonstrable knowledge of construction, building materials, embodied carbon, and material science i.e. how materials are made, and the corresponding environmental implications preferred.


You will understand Life Cycle Assessment methodology (BS EN 15978, RICS Whole Life Carbon Professional Statement or equivalent) and have experience with the Life Cycle Assessment tool.


An appreciation of coding or a modern programming language is desirable.


Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, effective communication skills and some experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
