This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Security Consultant to join the team in our London office (St Pauls) to play a role in ensuring the successful delivery of security controls for some of the most exciting and high-profile projects across the mixed-use, workplace and critical systems sectors.
As part of our established team of security consultants, you will design and advice on appropriate and proportionate security solutions. You will undertake security threat, vulnerability and risk assessments, provide security input to site masterplanning activities (e.g. Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), spatial layout and design of spaces, physical and electronic security provisions and operational security management requirements) develop security design and operational strategies and plans and design and advice on physical security measures in relation to various security threat attack methods including but not limited to hostile vehicle attacks, forced entry, blast and ballistic threats.
You will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to manage the delivery of technically excellent, profitable projects.
You will ideally have a background in security risk management and in the design and engineering of physical security solutions (including Hostile vehicle Mitigation (HVM), forced entry protection, blast mitigation, ballistic protection) and will have gained experience in delivering these following the RIBA Plan of Work design stages. It would also be beneficial if you have knowledge of or experience of security systems designs (video surveillance, access control, intruder alarm, intercom and integrated security management systems) and blast assessment and analysis.
You will have proven ability in undertaking crime and terrorism threat research using various sources of information, using qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methods, managing security stakeholder consultation, preparing specifications, reports, general arrangement drawings and carrying out site inspections and surveys. Also, crucially – you have a passion for creative and intuitive design.
Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
