We are expanding our business in Ireland and increasing our range of services in Dublin. Due to the demand, we are establishing in our Dublin office, Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) in the form of Sustainability Consulting, Health & Wellbeing Consultancy, Building Physics and innovative engineering design; these are areas that Cundall are leaders in around the world.
We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified engineer at Principal or Associate level to manage and promote our ESD service in Ireland and support Cundall’s One Planet Living objectives.
The objective will be to establish our ESD capability in Dublin. You will be supported both by our UK ESD team, who are leaders in this field, and our growing Dublin based MEP team. There will be a strong emphasis on business development and you will be required to quickly assimilate the innovative services we have developed so that you can use these to promote the ESD group and wider Cundall capacity in the Ireland market.
The UK based ESD team will provide interim technical support and training as the local team is being established. It is intended to provide workload from the UK to provide commercial security for the Dublin ESD team to support recruitment.
Working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will design, analyse, report and document ESD projects as well as present to clients. You will work across a variety of sectors and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as we support the development of your professional skills.
As an Principal / Associate, you will be responsible for business development, managing the delivery of projects within timescales and on budget, preparing fee proposals and bids, recruiting, mentoring and training of junior staff.
The role will offer a high degree of responsibility, based on the level of experience already gained in the industry.
Educated to a degree level in Engineering, chartered in a relevant institution and having gained relevant practical experience in a similar role, you will have demonstrable knowledge and experience in building design, innovation, building physics, conceptual MEP and the wider aspects of sustainability.
In depth-knowledge of analysis tools, mechanical design, passive building design and the Irish Building Regulations.
An appreciation of coding or a modern programming language would be beneficial.
Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, effective communication skills and some experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
