    Our Melbourne office are working on a number of the most significant ESD projects, breaking new ground and focusing on real regenerative impact.

    The Role

    We have excellent opportunities for talented ESD professionals from graduate through to consultant level, to strengthen the sustainability team in our Melbourne office and to work on some of the most exciting projects in Australia across a range of sectors. We’re looking for motivated and professional consultants who share our passion for sustainable building design.


    The role of an ESD Consultant is to create sustainable buildings and improve existing building performance. You will be using sophisticated computational software and experience to perform technical analysis, provide advice on the use of green building technology, demonstrate design leadership and perform project management.


    As part of our established multi-disciplinary team, and working closely with colleagues across multiple offices, you will analyse, report, model and document ESD projects and present to clients with the aim of providing great advice to our expanding pool of consultants.


    You will work across a variety of sectors such as Retail, Residential, Education, Commercial and Healthcare, and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as we support the development of your professional skills.

    The Skills

    For consultant level applicants, you will be educated to degree level in Engineering, the Built Environment or a related area, and have gained significant and broad-ranging experience in an ESD Consulting role, including passive design, daylighting, energy analysis & modelling, materials impacts, thermal comfort, HVAC performance etc. Experience with using software such as IES VE, Grasshopper and Rhino will be highly regarded, as will experience in FirstRate5 (NatHERs assessor qualifications are desirable).


    You will have practical experience in using Green Star and NABERS, and a good understanding of other ESD rating tools such as LEED, WELL Standard, Fitwel and Living Building Challenge.


    Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.


    While graduate level applicants will have less professional experience of the above, academic or internship experience in these areas is desirable, as are coding skills.
