Cundall’s Civil Engineering team pride ourselves on our exemplary track record of designing innovative and sustainable civil engineering and infrastructure solutions, focused on improving and protecting the environment in which we live, while providing the facilities for day-to-day life, ensuring that transport and industry function effectively.
As one of the longest established of Cundall’s many disciplines, the Civil Engineering team are a source of world leading expertise – and offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, and professional excellence.
This is an unique opportunity for an experienced, collaborative and client focused Civil Engineer to join our Birmingham Office and play a leading role in the growth and development of our civil engineering team and service.
You will shape the engineering of some of the most exciting and prestigious civil infrastructure (drainage, flood risk assessments, highways, earthworks and building infrastructure) design projects in the UK and worldwide.
Leading a team of specialist engineers and technicians, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will manage the delivery of technically excellent and profitable projects.
You will develop new and nurture existing outstanding client relationships that maximise satisfaction and ensure repeat business, and will use your wealth of expertise and determination to manage, motivate and inspire less experienced engineers.
If you are not already chartered, Cundall will fully support you to achieve chartered status, and to continue your professional development.
Ideally a chartered engineer, and accredited with a MEng degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, you have gained significant practical experience of civil engineering within a consultancy environment, and an accomplished level of relevant IT skills in structural design software including AutoCAD, PDS and Civil CAD3D.
You have a background in the design of infrastructure (roads, drainage, earthworks) for both highway and drainage authorities (design to adoptable standards) and developers, taking schemes from initial concept/risk identification, through appropriate approval processes and on to detailed design for construction.
Experience of infrastructure as part of buildings projects working closely with other disciplines would also be an advantage.
You have a portfolio of built environment experience demonstrating your quality and client focused approach, and have consistently demonstrated your ability to manage multiple large scale projects and less experienced engineers to deliver to, and exceed client expectations, and crucially – you have a passion for creative and intuitive design.
Cundall values equality and diversity, and welcomes applications from candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
