This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Fire/Hydraulics Engineer to join the team to work on the design of some of the most exciting construction design projects in Australia and worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice, you will provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems and Retail.
Under the guidance of our team of expert engineers, this wide-ranging role will require you to carry out conceptual and detailed design in hydraulic and fire engineering including sanitary, hot and cold water, wastewater, and sprinkler systems. You will be required to carry out fire hazard identification and fire risk assessments, smoke control design and smoke plume modelling and develop computer simulations of fire dynamics and fire spread.
You will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and will be supported towards Chartership.
Accredited with a BEng degree level (or equivalent) in Building Services or Fire Engineering, you have a real interest in fire and hydraulics engineering design and analysis for the built environment, and crucially - have a passion for creative and intuitive design as well as a thirst for personal development and career progression. You have a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, are able to manage your own time to meet deadlines and you have an appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
